Obituary of Julia Mahoney
Mrs. Julia (Smoley) Mahoney, 85, formerly of 2221 East Main St., died early Friday morning Sept. 7, 2007 at the Glendale Center, Naugatuck. She was the widow of the late Francis Bob Mahoney, who died in 1992. Mrs. Mahoney was born in Waterbury, Oct. 22, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph and Tillie (Bayus) Smoley and was a life long city resident. She was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. She was employed by the City of Waterbury in City Clerks office for over 28 years, retiring in 1992. She was a communicant of Our lady of Loreto Church. She leaves four daughters, Susan Mahoney of Watertown, Marsha Johnston and her husband Richard of Watertown, Judith Goodrich and her husband Douglas of Waterbury, and Linda Culp and her husband Thomas of Enfield.; 10 grandchildren, Brian Smail, Lori Lenling, Michael Smail, Richard Johnston, Jeff Goodrich, Rob Goodrich, Julie Culp, and TK Culp; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main St. at Holmes Ave. to Our Lady of Loreto Church, Ardsley Rd. at Bunker Hill Ave. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
