Obituary of Joseph Havens
Joseph J. Havens, 53, of Southington and formerly of Cheshire, died Monday September 10, 2007 at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Havens was born June 3, 1954 in Waterbury the son of Rosamond C. (Tavano) Havens and the late Ralph E. Havens. He was a graduate of Cheshire High School Class of 1974. He was a Glazer for his family owned business, Union Plate and Window Glass Company in Waterbury. Mr. Havens was a life long Red Sox fan, loved bowling and was a member of the B.P.O.E. 265 Lodge of Elks. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Waterbury. Mr. Havens is survived by his brother Ralph E. Havens and his wife Terri of Moodus; two sisters Rosemarie E. Palmieri and her husband Angelo and son Ryan Emmett of Southington, and Estelle H. Piekarski and her husband Frank of Chehsire; his sister-in-law Meta Havens of Enfield; many cousins, nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. He is predeceased by his brother Thomas Havens.Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 15, 2007 at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday September 14, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
