Obituary of Maerita Guertin

Mrs. Maerita (McCarthy) Guertin, 86, of Cheshire, died Saturday morning Sept. 29, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Guertin was born in New Britain, Nov. 24, 1920, a daughter of the late Frank McCarthy and Bertha (Coroley) McCarthy, and was employed by SNET. Co. as a consignment clerk until her retirement in 1993. Mrs. Guertin was a member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, and a member of the Cheshire Cats Square Dancing Club. She was also a member of Alpha Chapter #53, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Guertin is survived by two sons, Garry Guertin and his wife Debra of Southington, CT. and Roland McCarthy of Loganville, Georgia; two grandsons, Jason and David Guertin.Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Drive. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
