Obituary of Mary Horan
Mrs. Mary A. (Egan) Horan, 95, of Southington, a former Cheshire resident of 36 years, died Thursday October 4, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital in Waterbury. She was the wife of Timothy J. Horan.Mary was born April 2, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter oft the late John F. and Elizabeth (Rottkamp) Egan. She was a graduate of St. Monicas Grammar School and Jamaica High School in Jamaica, Long Island. She was a manager of a Western Union Telegraph Office in New York City, an estimator for Dennison Mfg. Co. in Framingham, MA, a FM program preparer for FM radio station WKOX in Framingham and was an office manager for Alpine Ski and Sports in Cheshire. She had lived in Watertown for six years and was active in many organizations including the Girl Scouts of America, the League of women Voters, the Council of Catholic Women and St. Johns School Association. She enjoyed traveling, playing the organ, reading, gardening, baking and sewing. Her special joy was her family. Mary was a Communicant of St. Bridgets Church in Cheshire.Besides her adoring husband of 71 years, she leaves her son, Timothy W. Horan and his wife Jeanne of Marshfield, MA, her daughter, Marilyn Ulizio and her husband Louis of Wallingford, 7 grandchildren, Owen Ulizio and his wife Eileen, Dean Ulizio and his wife Rachael, Todd Ulizio, Melanie Ulizio, Jennifer (Horan) McInerney and her husband Kevin, Timothy J. Horan and Jessica (Horan) Fairbanks and her husband Adam and 3 great grandchildren, Christopher, Jenna and Carmen Ulizio.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St Bridgets Church 175 Main St. in Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery in Wallingford.
