Obituary of David Buffington

NAUGATUCK- Mr. David Lee Buffington, 60, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully Sunday Jan. 22, 2012 at the VITAS Hospice Unit, at St. Mary's Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Diane (Lovine) Buffington and a great Dad to Daniel Buffington, whom he often called "Buddy" or "Son". David was born in Charleston, West VA, on June 9, 1951 son of the late Willard F. and Margaret M. (Bias) Buffington and lived most of his life in Conn. He had formerly worked for New Haven Copper and also J. B Park Roofing and Siding. David's real passion was working in his gardens and sharing the vegetables with his neighbors. He enjoyed watching Western's and Science Fiction movies with his son Daniel. He also enjoyed fishing, and watching lightning storms, and trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Besides his wife and son, he is survived by 3 brothers, Frank and his wife, Bernice of Shelton, Willie and his wife, Paula of West Virginia, and Rex also from West Virginia; his sister, Ruth Ann also of West Virginia; his Mother-in-law, Marge Lovine and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Charlie and a sister, Janet. His dog "Hillbilly" will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Leever Cancer Center, Dr. Alvarez and Staff, St. Mary's Hospital, the Glendale Center and especially our neighbors who are always there for us. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl.
