Obituary of Charlotte Healey
Mrs. Charlotte Elizabeth (Harrison) Healey, 89, of 29 Kenilworth St., Waterbury, died early Sunday morning Nov. 18, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital. She was the wife of Howard W. Healey. Mrs. Healey was born in Waterbury, Jan. 14, 1918, a daughter of the late Irving W. and Florence (Rockwood) Harrison and was educated in the local school system. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and Arcadia College in Florida and was active with the Arcadia Alumni Assoc. representing Conn. Her late father was Director of Parks for the City of Waterbury. She was a direct descendent of Mary Sawyer who wrote Mary Had a Little Lamb and was the recipient of her Wedding Gown which she donated to the Sterling Museum in Sterling, Mass. where their ancestral home is located. She was a former member and Secretary of Mellicent Porter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Besides her husband of 69 years, she leaves one son Richard H Healey of Wolcott and 3 grandchildren, Christopher Healey, Jason Healey, and Douglas Leichner. All services will be private. Burial will be in Old Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 70 Central Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
