Obituary of James Rees
Mr. James F. Rees, Sr, 92, of 150 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, died Thursday November 22, 2007 at the Elim Park Baptist Home. He was the husband of the late Frances (Gover) Rees. Mr. Rees was born September 27, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY and has been a Cheshire resident since 1990. He was educated in Rowayton schools and graduated from high school and attended business school in Norwalk. He was the owner of Standard Supply of Connecticut for many years prior to his retirement. He was an avid woodworker and was also a coin and stamp collector. He was the creator of the Road to Bethlehem at the Cheshire United Methodist Church where he was also a member. He leaves his sons, James F. Rees, Jr. of Senaca, South Carolina and Kenneth Cooke of Bali, Indonesia, his daughters, Diana L. Cooke, of Guilford, Nancy Mackey of Woodbury and Carolyn V. Rees of Warrenton, Missouri, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Cheshire United Methodist Church, 205 Academy Road at a date and time to be announced. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours.
