Obituary of Georgia Eckerson

Mrs. Georgia Mary (Pardee) Eckerson, 52, of Wallingford died Saturday November 24, 2007 at the Highlands Health Care Center. She was the wife of David Eckerson. Georgia was born October 8, 1955 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Allan Ives and Mary (Bedore) Pardee. She was raised in Cheshire and was a graduate of Cheshire High School. She was also a graduate of Hannah Harrison Nursing School in Washington, D.C. Georgia was employed for 30 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire. She was a descendant of the Ives, Pardee and Hotchkiss families who were among the original settlers of Cheshire. She was a volunteer at the Cheshire Senior Center and enjoyed walking, sewing and the outdoors. Georgia was a Communicant of St. Bridgets Church. Besides her husband, she leaves her daughters, Amy Lyn Eckerson of Waterbury and Amanda Taylor Eckerson of Wallingford, her brothers, Patrick Pardee of Cheshire and Matthew Pardee of Southington and her sisters, Nancy Pardee of New London, Kristin Pardee of Southbury, Mary Elizabeth Dickman of East Dover, VT, Ellen McCue of Southington and Amy Bracken Jaeger of Larkspur, CO. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday November 28 at 1 P.M. at St. Bridgets Church 175 Main St. in Cheshire. Burial will be private in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main Street Cheshire is in charge of arrangements.
