Obituary of Diane Heady-Atkinson
Diane (Sweet) Heady-Atkinson, 54, of 163 Meadow St., Naugatuck, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 25, 2007, at the Waterbury Hospital. Diane was born in Waterbury, June 24, 1953, a daughter of Joan (Kochanowski) Sweet and the late Wayne Sweet and had been a local resident for most of her life. She was educated in the local school system and was a 1971 graduate of Naugatuck High School. She was employed by Petsmart as a dog groomer for the past two years and had previously been employed by Petco and Keystone Kennels. She had a great love for animals and enjoyed family gatherings, and her Teddy Bear collection. Besides her Mother of Naugatuck, she leaves one daughter, Sharon Heady of Naugatuck; 2 brothers, William Sweet and David Sweet; 3 sisters, Deborah Lepore, Donna Scott, and Darlene Lopes all of Naugatuck; her former husband Richard Rich Heady of Naugatuck; her uncles and aunt, John Kochanowski, and Dale Sweet and Betty Sweet; her nieces and nephews, Zachary Sweet, Brandan Sweet, Jaime Boucher, Melissa Scott, Michael Lepore, Kyle Lopes and a Godchild, Nichole Lopes,. and several cousins. She was predeceased by another Godchild, Lori Ann Lepore. A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conn. Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, 06111.
