Obituary of Elbert Linsley
Elbert "Ken K. Linsley, 81, of S. Rolling Acres passed away Thursday November 29, 2007 at Miller Memorial in Meriden. He was the husband of Anita C. (Clark) Linsley.Mr. Linsley was born August 5, 1926 in New Haven, the son of the late Elbert K. and Anna (Behler) Linsley Sr. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army Air Force. During WWII, Mr. Linsley served in Germany as part of the Occupational Forces.Mr. Linsley was an active member of St. Peters Episcopal Church. Over time he served as a Vestry member, as Junior Warden and as Superintendent of the churchs cemetery. Mr. Linsley was a Production Engineer for Pratt and Whitney in North Haven. He was an avid skeet shooter having been a past member of the Hamden Fish and Game Club and the New Haven Raccoon Club. He also enjoyed square dancing. He was a member of the Silver Squares in Meriden.Besides his wife of 50 years, Mr. Linsley is survived by his son John C. Linsley of New Braintree, MA; a daughter Barbara Beeckman and her husband Robert of Woodstock, CT; a brother Donald of San Diego; a grandson Peter Caron Linsley; and many other loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Alan.Arrangements Calling hours will be held on Saturday December 8, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 15, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 59 Main St., Cheshire.
