Obituary of Michael McNamara
Cheshire Michael McNamara, 55, of Waterbury Rd. passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Mr. McNamara was born August 5, 1952 in Waterbury the son of the late John G. and Alida (Cahill) McNamara. Michael was raised in Cheshire where he graduated from Cheshire High School. He worked for the Department of Corrections for 20 years at both Cheshire Correctional Center and Manson Youth Institute prior to his retirement. Michael also worked for the Executive Auto Group and Bradshaw Chrysler prior to becoming ill. He was a Life member of the Cheshire Fire Department, as well as being a former Auxiliary Police Officer in Cheshire and a member of the Prospect, V.F.W. Mr. McNamara is survived by his beloved daughters Kathleen McNamara of Southington, Elizabeth Grady and her husband Kevin of Southington, Carol Bergeron and her husband John of Plainville; three brothers John, Thomas, and James all of Cheshire; two sisters Doreen Everett and her husband Louis of Texas and Mary Stopkoski and her husband Stephen of Cheshire; five grandchildren, Devin Van Patten, Julianna Grady, Kelsey, Jonathan, and Katelynn Bergeron and several nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank Deborah Clouse and her family, the staff of St Raphaels Hospital in New Haven, Doctor N. Vasan of Southern New England ENT in Cheshire, Doctor Fumo of MOH in Midstate Medical Center and Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT. Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 18, 2007, 9:15 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery.
