Obituary of G. Schweitzer
Wolcott G. Karume Schweitzer, 42, of Beecher Rd. and formerly of Cheshire, passed away Monday December 17, 2007. He was the husband of Beth A. (Leetch) Schweitzer. Mr. Schweitzer was born October 6, 1965 in Hartford the son of Eugene and Betty (Liska) Schweitzer. He is a Cheshire High School graduate, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of New Haven, and a Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He was a Sergeant with the Connect State Police. Mr. Schweitzer was a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Police Assoc. of CT. During his time as a State Trooper, he received many awards and accolades by the State of CT Dept. of Public Safety. He received citations for Meritorious Service as well as bravery; a certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Performance and was awarded Top Shooter in his State Police graduating class. Besides his wife Beth and his parents of Maryland, Mr. Schweitzer is survived by his brother Damon and his wife Ketty of Baltimore, MD; four sisters Kathy Bernard of Columbus, OH, Wendy Schweitzer of San Francisco, CA, Chel Schweitzer of Washington, DC, Saskia Schweitzer of DesMoines, IA; his nieces Kendall Holland and Amelia Schweitzer; a nephew Avery Schweitzer; his father and mother-in-law Jack and Janice Leetch of Cheshire; his brothers-in-law Brian Leetch and his wife Mary Beth of Boston, MA and Eric Leetch and his wife Karen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Arrangements A funeral will be held on Friday December 21, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St. Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main St., Waterbury.
