Obituary of Alfred Kacynski

Cheshire Alfred F. Kacynski, 88, formerly of Elmwood Dr. and Patton Dr. passed away Thursday December 27, 2007 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Shirley A. (McGreevy) Kacynski.Mr. Kacynski was born April 10, 1919 in Waterbury the son of the late William and Elizabeth Kacynski. He graduated from Crosby High School and from Syracuse University and attended New York University. He was a long time Cheshire resident and WWII Air Force Veteran serving in Italy, South Africa and Sicily.During his career Mr. Kacynski was the Assistant Director of Public Relations for Associated Colleges of Upper New York and Director of Public Relations at Sampson College as well as the State Board of Education. He was a communicant of St. Bridget Church where he served as a Eucharist Minister.Mr. Kacynski is survived by his sons William Willie Kacynski and his wife Amy of Cheshire and David Kacynski of Cheshire; and two grandsons Kyle Addy of Wallingford and Justin Kacynski of N. Haven.Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2008 at 10a.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
