Obituary of Edwin Hogarth
EDWIN T. HOGARTHEdwin T. 'Teddy' Hogarth, 95, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. A recent resident of Worthington Manor in East Berlin, he had resided in Cheshire for more than 85 years. Mr. Hogarth was born in England on June 6, 1912, the first son of the late Tom and Phyllis Ing Hogarth. Teddy grew up working on the Hall Farm in Cheshire and also worked for many years at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. He was employed as the custodian at the Cheshire Town Hall for 35 years, 1956 1991, and was well known by many friends, acquaintances and local officials in town. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed his many years of service to the Town of Cheshire. He was especially close to everyone who befriended him at the Town Hall and remembered those years fondly. He is survived by his sister Nancy Hollenbeck of Florida, his brother Bruce Hogarth of North Carolina, several sisters-in-law including Joyce B. Hogarth of Cheshire and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers William O. Hogarth, Douglas A.J. Hogarth and Guy R. Hogarth and his sister Phyllis Sullivan. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Cheshire on Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 AM. For Teddys Funeral service. There are no calling hours.
