Obituary of Mary Sweeney

Mrs. Mary (Woods) Sweeney, 95, of 41 Bingham St., Naugatuck, died Wednesday evening Jan 9, 2008, at the Marathon Healthcare Center in Waterbury. She was the widow of John F. Sweeney. Mrs. Sweney was born in Kingston, N.Y., Jan 17, 1912, a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Emma (Konzal) Woods and had lived in Naugatuck since 1916. She retired in 1968 from Uniroyal-Footwear after 35 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Union City. She leaves two daughters, Judith Sweeney Waterbury and Joann Brown of Virginia Beach, Va.. She was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Parzych and Helen Gillette and a grandson, David B. Voide All services are private. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements.
