Obituary of Virginia Burton

Virginia K. Burton, 77, of 35 Hamden Hills Rd passed away January 15, 2008 at Maple Woods at Hamden. She was the widow of Robert W. Burton. Virginia was born May 31st 1930 in Poughkeepsie, NY and was the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Baldwin) Kernochan. She attended Crosby High School in Waterbury, CT, and also attended Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. Virginia was a communicant of The First Congregational Church of Cheshire. She was involved with Cheshire Community Theater, and the Cheshire Board of Education. Virginia is survived by her sons, Mark and his wife Diane Burton of Fairfield, CT, and Jeff and his wife Amanda Burton of New York, NY. Virginia is also survived by her daughter Virginia and her husband Donald Fowler of Cheshire, CT. She also survived by her grandchildren Gregory Fowler, Bradley Burton, Sydney Burton, Kyle Burton, Jack Burton, and Alexa Burton. Virginia is also survived by her great-granddaughter Allison Fowler.Funeral Services will be held January 21st, 2008 at The First Congregational Church of Cheshire at 11 A.M. Burial will be at the convienience of the family. Calling hours will be held Sunday January 20th, 2008 from 2 to 5 P.M at Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main St, Cheshire, CT 06410.
