Obituary of Kevin Harvey
WOLCOTT- Kevin Michael Harvey, 57, passed away peacefully on January 26th in the loving arms of his wife Esther (Philippon) Harvey of Wolcott, and children Meghan and her husband Jim Roscoe of Seymour, Keith Harvey of Southington, and Shannon Harvey of Wolcott, at The Alzheimer's Resource Center of Connecticut.
He was born to Linnette (Hillary) and James Harvey on November 26, 1954. Kevin was raised in Darien, a 1972 graduate of Darien High School where he was a member on the wrestling team.
Kevin furthered his education at Central Connecticut State University, majored in Business and then received his Masters in Business from the University of Connecticut. Kevin had a love of sports whether playing or watching but nothing compared to the pride and joy when watching his own children play. Kevin coached in house and travel basketball, softball, as well as the Willie Mays baseball team in Wolcott. He was an avid UConn Huskies, Baltimore Orioles, and Indianapolis Colts fan. Kevin had a passion for reading, specifically about the Civil War and history.
Kevin's priority was his family and it showed in every aspect of his life. Kevin was a kind, gentle, caring, giving, and loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He also leaves behind a brother Stephen and his wife Leslie Harvey of Seattle, WA, their children Jeremy and Laura Harvey; a sister Karen and her husband Victor Racaniello, and son Sean of Darien as well as the entire Philippon family, Odie, Bruce, Sarah, Joe, Paula, Pete, Lauren, Caitlin, Carol, Michael, Brian, Andrea, Paul, Chris, Kayla, and Peter. Kevin also leaves behind a magnitude of friends that truly signifies the person that he was. Kevin was loved dearly.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of 2B who's care, dedication, love and friendship helped us to endure this most difficult of situations.
