Obituary of Elsie Heitman

Mrs. Elsie Elie Rita (DiGioa) Heitman, 73, of 58 Munson Rd. Bethany, died Tuesday evening Feb. 12, 2008 at the Hospice unit of the Masonic Heathcare Center in Wallingford. She was the wife of William F. Heitman. Mrs. Heitman was born in New Haven, March 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Jaglinski) DiGioa and had been a Bethany resident for the past 37 years, moving from California. She was a graduate of Hamden High School and Quinnipiac College. and retired in 1999 from the Defense Dept. where she had worked as an Auditor with over 12 years of service. She had previously worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Stratford. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck and was a member of the Bethany Garden Club. Besides her husband of 54 years, she leaves two sons, William A. Heitman of Bethany and Robert P. Heitman of Hebron; one daughter, Karen Gabriel of Meriden and 4 grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Matthew, Laura and Sara. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Rd., Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Carrington Cemetery, Rainbow Rd., Bethany.
