Obituary of Beatrice Rosen

WATERBURY- Mrs. Beatrice (Applebaum) Rosen, 95, of 167 Columbia Blvd., died Tuesday Feb. 19, 2008 at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Meyer Rosen.Mrs. Rosen was born in the Bronx, N.Y., April 22, 1912, a daughter of the late Samuel and Lena (Cohen) Applebaum and had been a Waterbury resident since 1936. She was a lifelong member of Beth El Synagogue, the Beth El Sisterhood, and the Waterbury Chapter of Hadassah. Most recently she was a member of BNai Shalom Synagogue. She leaves her son, Mark Rosen of Waterbury; a daughter, Sharon Rosen of Auburn, N.Y and Jupiter, Fl.;one granddaughter, Stacey Britt Galler of San Francisco, CA.A private service will be held on Thursday with burial in Beth El Cemetery. Shiva will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BNai Shalom Synagogue, 135 Roseland Ave., Waterbury, 06710. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 70 Central Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
