Obituary of Nivette Nadeau
Milford, DE Nivette Nadeau of Milford, DE and formerly of Cheshire passed away on Sunday March 9, 2008. She was the wife of Austin Nadeau. Mrs. Nadeau was born September 9, 1926 in Haverhill, MA the youngest daughter of the late Henry and Yvonne (Pepin) Laverdiere. After graduating St. James High School in Haverhill she became a legal secretary. She married Austin Nadeau on Christmas Day 1952. They took up residence in Cheshire where they were both active in the affairs of Cheshire Academy. Nivette re-entered the workforce as a secretary in the registrars office at Cheshire Academy and rose to the position of Registrar, a post she held until her retirement. After retiring from Cheshire Academy in 1990, she moved to rural Lincoln, DE, where they enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and cribbage. Nivette was an active member of St. John the Apostle Church in Lincoln. She was an avid bowler and roller skater and sang alto with Sweet Adelines. Besides her husband of 55 years Mrs. Nadeau is survived by her three sons, Michael of Reedsport, OR, Thomas and his wife Cheryl of Bel Air, MD, and Joseph and his wife Debra of Cheshire; and four grandchildren Stephen, Christian, Jake and Michelle.Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 13, 2008 10:15 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
