Obituary of John Scieller

SOUTHBURY- John Francis Scieller, 83, of 482-B Heritage Village, Southbury, died Monday Mar. 10, 2008 at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria (Brandolini) Scieller. Mr. Scieller was born in Waterbury April 16, 1924, a son of the late on P. and Mary (Walters) Siellers and was a life long Waterbury resident prior to moving to Southbury. He was educated in the Waterbury school system and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, having served with Battery C., 776th Coast Artillery Battalion, serving in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe and in the United Kingdom. He retired in 1990 from Better Formed Metals after 10 years of service and had previously been employed by VerJune Mfg. Co. with over 26 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves one son, John L. Sieller of Watertown, one daughter, Linda Cruff of Manchester; one sister, Patricia Barucci of Muleshoe, TX and 5 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, James Sieller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Mar. 15th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, Ardsley Rd, Waterbury. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
