Obituary of Doris Daunis
NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Doris Elaine (Stevens) Daunis, 81, of 401 Horton Hill Rd. traveled into the arms of her beloved husband, Kazimir Charles Daunis, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday evening April 24th , 2008. at her home She was the daughter of the late John and Florence (McKinley) Stevens of Waterbury. She was educated in the Waterbury school system and was a graduate of Hopeville Grammar School and Leavenworth High School. She retired from the Lewis Engineering Co. in the late 1990s after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Senior Womens Friendship Club, was active at the Senior Center, and was a member of the Naugatuck Chapter, # 495, American Association of Retired Persons. She also was a member of the Anaconda American Brass Retirees and the Gadabouts. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Pamela Daunis-Martin, of Naugatuck with whom she made her home, her husband Jimmy Martin and Grandson, Kyle Charles Martin. She also leaves behind her loving daughter Karen Shaknaitis Jenner of Torrington, and her Grandchildren Mark, Brian and Sarah Shaknaitis, all of Waterbury, Tracy Marti of Oakville, Jeffrey, Jessie and Jillian Jenner of Torrington She has 12 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Roger Stevens of Naugatuck, her sister Carolyn Marangio of Wolcott and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother John Stevens. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
