Dear Mr. and Mrs. Floyd, We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved sister Betty. My husband Nick and I moved across the street from Betty when we bought the old Fazzone house in 1990. Betty was very much the matriarch of the neighborhood by then and was very much loved. She was included in our neighborhood gatherings whether she came across the street on her own for a picnic or the guys went over to get her safely delivered if the snow was troublsome for a Christmas gathering. She would tell many stories of her childhood, including some about the horse in Bethany. Told us all about the lives of peolpe who lived here before us and how the adults would often get together to play cards on Sat nights. She would also often share memories of her youth spent here on George Avenue, always including stories of you and Marjorie and Culver,I can still hear her laughter when she would recount some of your days spent here together. When Betty first went to Elim Park she asked me to look after the house, her bills and her cats which we did for a year or more until it was sold to a lovely young couple. With the passing of Betty so too passes an end to an era for George Avenue. It is with a sad heart that we- All of George Ave- send our condolances. May God bless her and keep her. She was a grand soul. Kerry Chaconis

Betty was always interesting. She served as a companion for my mother and cared for her well. She became a personal friend and I enjoyed many times of hearing her stories and sharing mine. She always told it like it was. I am so sorry for your loss. I am aware of how close you were and how well you cared for her in her later years (and probably earlier years as well). Our prayers are with you at this time.
