Obituary of Elise Casey

Mrs. Elise (Place)(Elliott) Casey, 91, of 600 Paoli Pointe Dr., Paoli, PA, died Friday July 11,2008 at her home. She was the widow of the late Paul M. Elliott who she was married to for 22 years and Justin F. Casey, who she was married to for 26 years.Mrs. Casey was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Dec. 29, 1916, a daughter of the late Warren Belmont Place and the late Ella (Wilson) Place and was a Naugatuck resident for 48 years, settling in Naugatuck in 1938 and moving to Wayne, Pennsylvania in 1986. She was a graduate of the New York school system and also graduated from New Jersey State College of Newark and did graduate work at Southern Conn. State University. She taught in the Naugatuck school system at Prospect Street School for more than 20 years. She was a member of the National Education Association. She leaves her children, Jean and Mel Thomason of Asheville, N.C., Ruth and Howard Kravitz of Wayne, PA, Judith and Bob Vaughn of North Richland, TX and Justin Thomas Casey of Fort Worth, TX; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements.
