Jeremy Sachs posted a condolence
Friday, September 26, 2008
Dear Lois, I was greatly saddened today and totally stunned to learn of Steve's passing! He was the Sachs family attorney and a wonderful friend, lo these many years. He enjoyed exchanging family news with me, and he was so happy for me when I became a grandfather. As Steve and you were well aware, my father was one of four children, but he was the only one who married; and I am his only child. So, this grandbaby took on extra-special importance for me, and Steve remarked on how happy I was in the role of grandfather. In his work for our family Steve was a devoted and careful attorney who shepherded the Sachs family assets through the vagaries of numerous estate administrations. I shall always remain grateful for his dedication to our welfare. and I shall remember him for the many mitzvot and courtesies he extended to us. May G-d give you strength to endure the pain of his passing. He was a real mensch. Sincerely, Jeremy Sachs Bloomfield, Connecticut Steve and I also had many laughs and frustrations over seeking legal assistance in Israel -- an effort that may finally be coming to a trying to get legal action on the famous two

Dear Lois, Ana and I are sad to hear about Steve. Everything said about Steve at his memorial service is true -I can certainly vouch for that. Steve helped me immeasurably during that difficult transitional period when I first came to Waterbury and began a new career in law. He was one of the kindest and most honorable men that I have known, and I will miss him very much. Chuck Oman

In my memories of Steve, I hear him reading his mother's letters to us. As Mrs. R traveled the world, she reported back 'home' to her staff. Her words and his readings brought all of us on camel rides through Egypt, walks on the Great Wall, time travel through history. They were both very gifted and giving people. I am honored to have known them. With sympathy for Lois and children and grandchildren-- family-- Carla (Fino) Harrell

I was so sorry to here about Mr. Ruskin's passing. I've been working at the law firm for 5 years now and always looked forward to seeing him. He always stopped to talk for a few minutes and his smile was the first words...how his eyes lit up when he smiled. He was one of the few 'gentleman' left. 6 years ago my husband had a stroke at age 47, when he was released from the hospital I was told to obtain a POA, after numerous phone calls, I spoke with Atty Ruskin and he was so cordial. Atty Ruskin actually came to our house and prepared the POA. A few years later we went to his office where he drew up our wills. I will never forget what a kind, caring man he was. I'm greatly sorry for your loss.
