Obituary of Robert Reid
Cheshire; Mr. Robert Malcolm Reid 62 passed away peacefully on July 13, 2009 surrounded by his loving family in their home. He was the devoted husband of 40 years to Evelyn (Pawlowski) Reid, the beloved father of daughter Victoria Reid, son Alexander Malcolm Reid and daughter-in-law Julia (Jarrett) Reid, and the doting grandfather of Lillian Everett Reid. Robert was born in Tampa, FL and was the son of Jeannette (Londenberg) Reid and the late Lt. Col. Malcolm Reid. He is also survived by his brother Howard Malcolm Reid, Ph.D. and many nieces and nephews. After receiving his undergraduate and graduate engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Robert began a long career in the transportation field working with Conrail, Southern Railway, Ryder P.I.E., Bekins, Booz Allen, and the Long Island Railroad. He retired as a Partner in Oliver Wyman's Surface Transportation group. A railroad enthusiast, Robert loved taking cross-country train trips. The tracks he has left in the hearts of friends and family will extend for eternity.
All who knew and loved him may attend a Pannihida service on Friday July 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main St. Cheshire. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
