Obituary of Michael Hamel

NAUGATUCK- Mr. Michael W. Hamel, 35, of 5 Picture Lane, Naugatuck, died unexpectedly Friday April 9, 2010 at his home. M. Hamel was born in Waterbury, Sept. 11, 1974, a son of William M. and Shirley A. (Andrew) Hamel and had been a Naugatuck resident since 1996, moving here from Waterbury. He was a graduate of Crosby High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Batchelor of Arts degree and was employed by Region 15 Board of Education, in the Information Technology Dept. He enjoyed composing music and played the guitar and other instruments. His hobbies included snowboarding. Besides his parents of Naugatuck, he leaves a sister, Jennifer Hamel and her husband, Peter Suhmann of Newton Square, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 13th at 10 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Rd. Friends are asked to meet directly at church prior to the mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
