Obituary of Alan Hall
LAND O' LAKES, FL- Alan Hall, 65, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, after saving the life of a 5 year old girl who was caught in a riptide on Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, FL. He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Rio) Hall.
Mr. Hall was born on August 15, 1946 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Donald and Hulda (DeBisschop) Hall. He was a long time Cheshire resident before moving to Florida in Nov 2011.
Alan was employed by Frito-Lay as a salesman. He enjoyed playing softball and golf, and was also an active member of the Mattatuck Fife and Drum Corps. He enjoyed life to the fullest, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his wife of 42 years, Mr. Hall is survived by his son, Gregory, of Cheshire; his daughter, Julie, of Lutz, FL, his sister, Evelyn Norton, of Cape Cod, MA as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements--Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 10 am, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 505 South Main St in Thomaston. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St,. Memorial Contributions may be made in Alan's name to an organization of the donor's choice with the mindset that Alan helped every living thing, from animals, to children, to the elderly, or simply anyone in need with no ulterior motives.
