Obituary of Paulette Lambert
CHESHIRE- Paulette M. Lambert, 60, passed away Monday November 22, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of Ralph L. Lambert.
Paulette was born December 9, 1949 in Waterbury the daughter of Yvette P. Meo and the late Francis Meo. She had recently retired after a forty two year career in the banking industry serving at Colonial Bank, Bank of Boston, Bank Mart, Centerbank and People's Bank where she retired. She enjoyed helping many people acquire their first home by going the extra distance to secure a mortgage. She was a tireless worker, tending to the needs of her customers, making sure that all documents were finished to perfection. She was a communicant of both St. Bridget and Church of the Epiphany Churches.
While at home, Paulette loved to watch movies and put together her many photo albums of the good times in her life. She enjoyed talking with her daughter every day spending time with her family as well as her dog Emma. The holidays were always a priority especially Christmas. She was known for her love of shopping; strawberry picking; searching for pumpkins or "girl time" with her daughter and best friend Alicia.
One of Paulette's favorite things to do was riding her bicycle with Alicia on the Cheshire/Hamden Linear trail as well as other Connecticut locations. For Paulette and Alicia, a typical riding season would easily log more than a thousand miles. Some other bike routes that she explored with her husband were located in Cape Cod, Block Island as well as Newport. She was a strong rider who could easily flatten out any hills that came her way.
Paulette loved to travel to the islands, often returning to Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Bermuda and recently St. Thomas and St. John. Throughout her life, she embraced the simple pleasures that life has to offer. She enjoyed music, gardening and walking on the beach at night.
The Lambert family wishes to thank Michelle Cappiello at Yale-Smilow Cancer Hospital as well as Hospice Home Care for their kindness and support throughout Paulette's illness.
Beside her mother and her husband of 33 years, Paulette is survived by her daughter Alicia Lambert and her fiancé Lorin Webber of Cheshire; her sisters Roseline Gilland of Waterbury, Danielle Grilley of Oakville and Francine Richardson of New Hampshire; her sisters-in-law Eloise Marinos of Canton and Luann Sause of New Haven; and her very special cousin Cynthia Meo and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Steven Meo.
