Obituary of Rosemary Lamanno

NAUGATUCK- Rosemary Y. Lamanno, formerly of 56 Lewis St in Naugatuck passed away on December 2, 2010 in Newport News Virginia. She was born in Naugatuck on August 8, 1922, daughter of the late Antonino and Margherita (Adamo) Lamanno. She was a Naugatuck resident for most of her life prior to moving to Newport News in 2008. She was educated at Columbia University and Southern Connecticut State University where she earned a BS degree in Elementary Education and an MS degree in Reading Education. She was employed at the US Rubber Company/Uniroyal in the 1960s, and was an elementary school teacher at Andrew Avenue School in Naugatuck from 1970 until her retirement in 1991. She is survived by a son, (James) Thomas Brenna of Ithaca, New York, and four grandchildren, Christopher Brenna of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Daniel Brenna, Margaret Brenna, and Anne Brenna, all of Ithaca, New York and many devoted nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers Daniel Lamanno and James Lamanno, and sister Josephine (Lamanno) Mencio. Her funeral will be held on Saturday Dec. 11, 2010 at 10:15 AM from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 9 AM on Saturday morning, prior to the funeral service.
