I think of dad often and initially tear up and then smile. I miss you so much. I miss your hugs and the talks we would have and you providing driving directions that seemed to go on forever. I miss seeing you on your motorcycle and dropping in for a glass of water. I wish you were here, but know you are in my heart and always will be. It's hard to believe you've been gone for a year already -- sometimes it feels like a lifetime ago, but then sometimes it feels only like yesterday. You will always be missed and loved. You were my rock!

Dear Jeanette and Family, I just heard the news of Glenn's passing and have been deeply saddened by it. I've not seen Glenn in many years since having moved my family to CA, but I still remember what a kind and generous man he was. He was always there to help me or give sound advice in a caring way whenever necessary, whether in business or personal life. Please know that he will be missed by many. It was instantaneous admiration from the first day I met him. GOD sent an angel to Jeanette and her three girls many years ago. He had four children of his own, but he nurtured and cared for Debbie, Karen, and Michelle like they were his own. Then Melissa and Matthew came along and they became a version of the Brady bunch with his, hers, and ours. He was a force to be reckoned with but underneath that big strong frame beat the heart of a gentle giant. He led with his heart and loved from the depths of his soul.
He saved my life one day in the waters off Cape Hatteras, NC. I was being battered by the surf and continually knocked down. I could not get my footing and could feel myself being dragged out a little farther which each wave. Glenn realized I was in trouble, ran into the waves, and scooped me up with his big, strong hands. Once he got me out of the water, he looked me over, patted me on the back a couple of times and said you're alright. Yes. I was alright that day. Thanks to him.
He made us roll with laughter. One of his specialties would be to push out his stomach as far as he could and then crank it back up into his chest. My children would squeal with delight and beg "Do it again Uncle Glenn, do it again." He often lifted me up in a bear hug and squeezed until I thought my lungs would explode. Then gently put me down and go on his merry way with a big smile on his face.
He was the only one who would eat cold fried fish with me in the morning after a fish fry. We would turn everyone else's stomach at the sight of us sitting on the kitchen counter with a jar of mayonnaise and a brown bag of cold fried fish. He was quite simply the best.
One more beautiful spirit has found its way through the eternal gates of heaven. Be at peace in the presence of GOD, dear Glenn. You will be missed and remembered always. I have and always will love you. Lynn Stanley

Our dear Glenn will always live in our memories. We treasure countless days in New Jersey, Florida, California, the Cabin and Connecticut. From the first time we met handsome Glenn at White Meadow Lake; to Glenn feeding baby Jodi; to "drive-bys"; to fishing in Frisco; to meting Glenn's small planes at the local airport; to relaxing at the Cabin; to our daughter's wedding in San Francisco; and "the group" in Napa Valley; and to the one and only Glenn riding his motorcycle from Connecticut to South Florida...we have been so blessed to have had Glenn in our lives. My Step-Father, My Daddy I remember being in your wedding. When you married my mom, or maybe I just remember seeing the pictures. I was five and I was smiling. I remember how strong you were - you used to pick me up by my ears and tickle me until it hurt. Mom would say, "You're too rough!" You didn't know your own strength. I didn't want to like you, because I thought that's what I was supposed to do, you know, you being my step- father and all. I think I even used to make up wild stories to my friends to show them how terrible I had it! I do remember not wanting to walk in front of you while you were in the chair if I had done something wrong. Not knowing if you were asleep or not, that foot would get my bottom! I remember clearly, when I was sixteen.it was a turning point in my life .my friend had killed himself. I sat on your lap and was crying. You told me a very personal story of your own pain, a pain that had almost caused us not to meet. This is when I called you my Dad. My friends worked with you. They used to tell stories of how you picked up a plow and attached it to the truck, all by yourself. You were so strong. I went to college. You were so proud. I made you cry. I loved my Dad. Years later, I was married. I chose to have you walk me down the aisle, I made a conscious decision to do this, you where my Dad. You have been an inspiration to me, and to my husband. You have been a dad to him. You held all of my children in your arms, you were the best Grandpa. You were always there when we needed you. You had so many in your life, but you always made me feel special. You always were so fair. As I watch you through your last days, I remember so many good times. I am so glad we met and that you were a part of my life. You are so strong. You are my Daddy. Michelle
