Obituary of Alan W. Laidlaw
NAUGATUCK- Mr. Alan Walker Laidlaw, 68 of Naugatuck, passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Laidlaw was born in Bridgeport, May 31, 1945, a son of the late Edwin W. and Clarice E. (Walker) Laidlaw and had been a Naugatuck resident for the past 15 years. He was a graduate of Trumbull High school and attended Quinnipiac College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam era and attended the Southbury Ward of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a licensed Firearms instructor and was the owner of Pistol Protection Plus for a number of years, offering classes in pistol and long gun licensing classes.
He leaves one son, David Laidlaw of Kingston, NY and one daughter, Lisa Bridges of Beacon Falls.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting with all the arrangements.
