I was happy to be able to attend the service for Ruth. And to meet the family. She lived a full life but even at 99 it's hard to lose someone so dear. My sincere condolences to all of you as I know she will be missed. I wish I had known her.

To Ruth's Family,
I came to know Ruth during her time in Kinsale, when she was a big supporter of The Westmoreland Players. What a delightful lady! Her joie de vivre shows up 100% in the photos attached to her obituary. I sent her birthday greetings and a letter every year to let her know she was still in my thoughts.
When Ruth left Kinsale, she invited me to come and peruse her wonderful library. She brought me tea and cookies, and let me browse and take any books that I wanted to have. It was important to her that her books went to "good homes." I did not take many books, but I treasure the ones I "adopted." What a lovely gesture on her part.
I am glad to know that she lived such a long and happy life, and grateful to those of you who took good care of her in her final days. God bless you and God bless Ruth!
With affection,
Janice Stewart Woolley

Ruth's camellias are starting their annual glorious paean to the season. Heavens, how they do bloom! Having picked some with the permission of the present owners to take to Gin Harris, I sadly brought them inside too early on a cold Sunday, and their petals drooped and dropped. When we reached Gin's (flowerless), we learned that Ruth herself had gone. But every time we read one of her John Buchan books or cut camellias for a party, she will be smiling at our side. And we know we can depend on her to help divert storms from Kinsale's Christmas fund-raiser and other such events, so EVERYBODY can enjoy the party. The video was GREAT.
much love, Lynn E. Norris, Kinsale Museum Director, honored to have known Ruth

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful woman, my heartfelt sorrow and at this very sad time, a long life makes it no easier. Grieve the loss but we all will remember forever her smile and the bright sunny, happy person that she always was. Love you all! Lisa

We are only a small part of her Virginia family but we loved Aunt Ruth dearly. Being our mom's (Muriel) best friend, we were so lucky to be with Ruth often - birthdays, special occasions and Uncle Bill always wore his tartan skirt at Christmas - what fun! Ruth was truly a special person put on earth for very special reasons. My brother, Buzz, summed it up by saying that we were all better for having known Aunt Ruth - so true. With much love to her family, Susan Taylor, Cathy Hensby, Buzz Taylor and all our family. . .
