Obituary of Kathleen M. Hipona

Orange – Kathleen M. Hipona, 55, passed away on July 2, 2016, at her home in Orange. She was the wife of Dr. Rene Hipona. Mrs. Hipona was born on April 23, 1961, in New Haven, the daughter of Gerald Corcoran and the late Adoria (Drouin) Corcoran. A graduate of Quinnipiac University with a degree in nursing, Kathleen devoted herself to raising her family. She was an avid tennis player, a member of the United States Tennis Association and captain of several district qualifying teams. Kathleen's real passion was for running and was an age group champion. She was also a member and former board member of the Paugusset Tennis & Swim Club, The Country Club of Woodbridge, and The Race Brook Country Club. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hipona is survived by her son, Jason, her daughters, Kayla and Hannah, her father, Gerald Corcoran of Cheshire, her brothers, Gerald Corcoran, and his wife Wendy, of California, Matthew Corcoran, and his wife Monika, of Cheshire, John Corcoran, of Cheshire, and her sisters, Tara Corcoran, of Cheshire, and Deidre Corcoran, of Colebrook. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, David, James, Michael, Erich, Kyra, and Travis. Arrangements- Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 10:00 A.M., at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, 06410. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire. Friends may call at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, Tuesday evening, from 5:00 until 7:00.
