My deepest condolences to the McGovern family. I had worked with Charles at Richard Chevy for many years. I used to get in many heated discussions with him when George Bush was president. Charles was a real Conservative. And me, being a Democrat from Ansonia. I live in Florida now for the past 6 years. The last time I saw him was in 2010 when I left Richards. I will light a candle for him at church this week end. I really enjoyed Charles and he will be missed. I would always look forward to seeing him every day. David Velms 1008 Glenraven Ln. Kevin, My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Dad. I am hoping you can participate in the CHS '76 reunion events of either Friday evening and/or Saturday evening. We want to help cheer you at this time, as best we can. Bring your running stuff so we can get a run in as well! My cell phone is 804-304-0931. I have spoken to Mark and Steve Proffitt abnout your attending. Just show up, at no cost to you. I have forward information about the events to your cousin, Kerin Grosso, who I work with in Missouri (small world!). Here is some information on the reunion: Hello Class of 1976 Classmates: 1 week and counting before the start of our 40th reunion!!! There will surely be a lot of "Spirit of 76" in the room. I assure you! Some final details! Plan to arrive between 6:30-7:00. When you enter the Southington Back Nine Tavern in parking lot on Friday, look for this sign with attached balloons. This will lead you to the entrance to our private room. When you arrive to the Aqua Turf on Saturday night, staff will direct you to the Glass Room which is located up front of the grounds! Our sign will be there as well! Class of 1977 classmates will be checking you in both nights! On Friday night, appetizers will start to be served at 7:15 with a CASH bar. The weather is looking nice for us with temps in the low 70's so you will be able to enjoy the nice patios at both venues. So Gents and Ladies (if you so desire), bring cigars with you both nights! The festivities on Saturday night begin promptly at 6:30 with food stations, OPEN bar all night, music, dancing and other FUN surprises! And don't forget that a tour of CHS will take place Saturday morning (let's say an 11:00 start time so that you've had time to wake up and have your coffee). That's about it!
