Obituary of Hannelore Biewald

NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Hannelore (Schruff) Biewald, 85, of Naugatuck, passed away Friday evening August 31, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of Heinz E. Biewald. Mrs. Biewald was born in Wesel, Germany Oct. 25, 1926, a daughter of the late August and Charlotte (Kotter) Schruff and had been a Naugatuck resident since moving here in 1992 from New Haven. She was a retired Bakery Manager for Wolfes Bakery in New Haven where she had worked for 11 years, prior to her retirement. Hannelore loved going to Bingo and enjoyed her trips to the casino. She also enjoyed reading and hosting her Tag Sales often, and especially enjoyed having her granddaughters around the house to play with and spoil. She loved to cook and prepare great family dinners and holiday functions. She will be sorely missed by her entire family and her friends. "God Bless You Oma." Beside her husband of 60 years, she leaves her Six children and their families, Horst and Linda Biewald of Hamden, Karl and Susan Biewald of Naugatuck, Rainer Biewald of Naugatuck, Frank and Heather Biewald of Oxford, Richard Kloppert of Essen, German, and Lore Kleinoder-Schuh of Lingen, Germany and brothers, Walter Schruff and Juergen Schruff, and a sister, Lilo Vos all of Germany; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Wilhelm Schruff and Rudy Schruff Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday Sept. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Cross St., Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
