CHESHIRE - Lawrence “Larry”F. Wild, Sr., 82, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at Hartford Hospital.  He was the husband of Margaret “Meg” (Thrall) Wild.

Larry was born March 2, 1936 in Waterbury, the son of the late Lawrence and Julia (Bunce) Wild.  He attended Humiston School and graduated from Sacred Heart High School Class of 1954.  He joined the Cheshire Police Department in 1959 and attended the CT Police Academy where he graduated first in his class.  He furthered his education at Babson College where once again was top of his class in Police Training.  During his years with the department, Larry obtained the rank of Sergeant.  He retired from the department in 1987 after 28 years of service.

After his retirement he owned and operated the New England Tennis and Construction Company for over 40 years.  He was instrumental in the organization of the Cheshire Junior Football League.  One of Larry’s favorite pastimes was playing Cribbage at the Notch Store as well as enjoying the camaraderie of his many friends…especially Big Man.

For many years, Larry and his wife enjoyed a vacation home in Ft. Lauderdale, eventually relocating to Ormond Beach.  He was a proud man who enjoyed his Irish heritage, traveling to Ireland numerous times.
