Obituary of Alison T. Doyle

Alison “Nicky” Tredennick Doyle, age 80, died on December 16, 2018 after suffering a brief bout of cancer. She passed away in her Cheshire home of 51 years surrounded by her loving family.

Nicky is survived by her son, Thomas Doyle II of Thomaston, her daughter, Francesca Samele of Torrington, her sisters, Mary Gould of Kensington, Annie Cleary of Weston, MA, Alexandra Coe Barakos and her husband James Barakos of Cheshire and her brother, Stephen Tredennick of Kensington. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Doyle, her daughter, Alison Doyle and her brother, Mark Tredennick of Austin, TX.

Her survivors also include sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Eglin of West Springfield, Ma, Madelyn Ricciardi of Chappaqua, NY, Lynne Tredennick of Lakeway, TX and brother-in-law, Robert Doyle of Litchfield plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nicky was born in Meriden, CT on Feb 16, 1938 to Edward Coe and Alison Alexander Tredennick. She attended Meriden High School graduating from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Noroton, CT. She continued her studies at Duchesne Residence School and Berkley Business School in New York City. After working for the Radiology Department of Meriden Hospital, she became a flight attendant for TWA and American Airlines, a career she thoroughly enjoyed for more than 50 years.

Nicky was very active in the Fidelco Guide Dog foster puppy program and continued to be devoted to her own German Shepherds over the years. She was deeply involved in AA for over 30 years and was a regular at her local gym which she attended three times a week. She was her happiest when reading a book, or being surrounded by her family. She especially loved spending time with her sisters, as they, talked, laughed, shopped, and traveled. Nicky provided an attentive ear for everyone, listening with warmth, and responding with both a dry sense of humor and her ever-present contagious laugh.

Her family would like to thank the Franciscan Healthcare Center of Meriden, CT for their compassionate care provided for Nicky.
