Obituary of Richard L. Graettinger

CHESHIRE- Richard L. Graettinger, 91, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden. He was the widower of Dominica “Mae” Graettinger who predeceased him in 2007.

Mr. Graettinger was born July 18, 1927 in Graettinger, IA, son of the late Louie and Hattie (Merkel) Graettinger.

Richard was veteran, proudly serving in the United States Army. He was the former owner and operator of G&G Garage, and North Haven Fabrication.

He is survived by his son Gary Richard Graettinger of Durham and his children Wesley, Christina, Korey and his wife Patricia Woods and their son Garrett; his daughter Sheryl and her husband William “Bill” Tooker of Wallingford and their daughters Ashley Thomson and her daughter Gemma of Durham, and Chelsea Thompson of Wallingford.

Arrangements- A graveside service for Richard will be held 11 A.M, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave, North Haven, 06473. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Burial will follow after the service and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
