Obituary of Larry Crighton
CHESHIRE- Lawrence W. Crighton, passed away on his 69th birthday, at The Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire.
He was born April 29, 1944 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late David and Judith (Dillon) Crighton.
Lawrence was employed as an auto mechanic at Wallingford Audi prior to his illness. He served in the U. S. Air Force as a jet aircraft mechanic. He was an avid Stock Car Racer racing at Plainville Stadium; he was a NASCAR fan and attended several NASCAR events. He also enjoyed spending time on his boat in Branford, CT. He was a member of the Prospect V.F.W. and the Southington Elks Club.
He is survived by a brother Robert and his wife Nancy Crighton of Prospect; his sister Cheryl Ewing of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, six nephews, David Eckrote, Jr., Richard and Christopher Ewing, Kevin, Bryan and Steven Crighton. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Cynthia Eckrote in 1982.
Arrangements- A service for Lawrence will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until the start of the service at 7. Donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
