Please accept my sincere condolences. May you be comforted by the hope found in God's Word, the Bible, which promises that one day the earth will be a place free of pain, mourning, sickness and death (Revelation 21:4). These words were written to bring comfort to us and I hope that they bring you a measure of comfort and help you to cope during these most difficult days.

Maryann was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of David & Irene Louis. She was the older sister to Kathy and Donna. Maryann and I met in 1961 and were married in 1970. We were blessed with two children, Alicia and Bryan. Maryann was my best friend, a wonderful wife and most of all a great mother. Our children were her priority. After 51 years together, I learned something new about Maryann. I learned how strong she is.
Maryann faced her illness with courage and optimism. She never gave up. Thanks to her attitude, the devoted care of her family, and the doctors, nurses and staff at Yale Smilow Cancer Center, Maryann was able to continue doing the things that made her happy. She enjoyed taking care of her family, Alicia's wedding and the birth of our grand daughter Carina.
As a young girl, Maryann attended St John Nepomucene church and grammar school. Maryann's mother told me that the Sisters at school referred to Maryann as a little lady. How true that was. Maryann remained a lady her whole life, doing the proper things, the things lady's do. Maryann was a kind loving person who always celebrated the important days in her family and friends lives. She would send cards, make phone calls, put together little presents and of course bake cakes. Sometimes we would ask her to stop, but Maryann would continue and I believe if she did stop we would have been disappointed.
Maryann loved to travel; she enjoyed warm weather, beaches and casinos. Her favorite place, her happy place was Aruba. We made several trips there. Maryann also enjoyed travel to Hawaii, Mexico, New Orleans, Key West, California and various other states.
My cousin gave a beautiful eulogy at my mother's funeral. I have never forgotten the meaning of what he said. To paraphrase, he described life as two book ends, one at birth, and the other at death. He said what's important are the books in between. They represent how you lived your life; your family; your friends; the kindness you shared; all that you touched and accomplished. Maryann's books were full of wonderful things. I know Maryann had no regrets. She shared a wonderful life with her family and friends and made so many good memories that she will be with me, Alicia, Bryan, Anthony and our family for the rest of our lives. The sound of her voice will be missed but never forgotten. I hope Maryann will be forever in your prayers and thoughts.
Her Loving Husband,
Pete

Dear Pete and family, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear wife, mother, sister and friend. Maryann was always such a lovely gal. Growing up with them on Brooks St. going to grammar and High School was a great time in our lives.. Traveling to Bermuda with them was so much fun and something I will never forget. I'm sorry she had to leave us so soon but she put up a good fight to be here with you all. May she rest in peace with her parents and Kathy... Love and peace Carol
