Obituary of Diane Fleck
CHESHIRE- Diane D. Fleck, 68, passed away, August 8, 2013 peacefully surrounded by family at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Milford on October 21, 1944 where she had many fond memories of growing up on the water in the Walnut Beach area. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Connie (Sabol) Gerschefski.
Diane worked for Bic in Milford before moving to Cheshire in the 70's at which time she started her own cleaning business. She bought a beautiful piece of property with a house and barn built in 1845. She put much of herself into decorating her new home, loved antiquing, and would work on her "finds" in the barn and then have tag sales. Diane was an avid traveler. She spent time in Nantucket with close friends and her favorite yearly vacation spot was Morocco where she spent time with her friend Harold.
She had a zest for being outside and gardening, her illness didn't hold her back this past spring from planting her magnificent flower gardens. Diane was an excellent homemaker, and a great cook well known for her Thanksgiving Dinner. She loved spending time with her family, was a very generous person and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Diane is survived by her son Jeff and his wife Amy Fleck of Wolcott; a brother Rick and his wife Sue Gerschefski of Hamden; two nephews; one niece; two grandnieces; and her dear friend Steve Champagne. She was predeceased by her daughter Tammy Fleck.
The Fleck family would like to extend a very special thanks to Roberta Looney for being such an exceptional caring friend and person.
