WATERBURY- Rev. Harvey L. Parsons 84, of Waterbury. left this world and joined his heavenly Father on December 25, 2011. Rev. Parsons, the widower of Shirley (Grant) (Richardson) Parsons, was born in Waterbury on March 25, 1924, the youngest son of Alvah & Grace (Brown) Parsons. Rev. Parsons was a veteran of, the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army, and retired from ADT in the late 1970's where he had worked for over twenty years. After marrying his only wife, his beloved Shirley, he fulfilled his call to be a minister, serving for over twenty years as an associate pastor at the First Assemblies of God Church of Waterbury. During that time he and Shirley carried out a ministry serving the senior members of the congregation, as well as a ministry in several area nursing homes. Rev. Parsons was extremely devoted to those whom he looked upon as "his flock" and had a special compassion for the nursing home residents who were often lonely and forgotten.
