Dear Pat and Family: Even though we are living in Florida, we still get the Cheshire Herald. Frank, Pete and I were deeply saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Frank and Pete fondly recall the many camp-outs, ziti dinners, etc. that were a part of scouting. I will always remember what a pleasure it was to teach your boys during my CCD days at the Epiphany...how fortunate for your boys to have parents like you and Bob who truly lived their religion every day of their lives. Bob will be missed, but he leaves behind a legacy for his sons and grandchildren. Laura and Frank Del Vecchio

Pat, I am so sorry to learn of Bob' s passing. He was such a sweet and sincere and funny guy, and a true gentleman. His broad grin is one of the biggest things I miss about Bob. How perfect to have such a modern and technical way to express our sympathy Not being able to drive, I was unable to get to the wake or funeral. Please accept my condolences on the passing of such a dear man. maria

Dear Pat, I don't know if you will remember, but I taught at Dodd with you and Bob during the 1970s and I left in the fall of 1982 to practice law. I was shocked to read of Bob's death. There is one story I will never forget about Bob. Back then he was the coach of the boy's soccer team. He came to me one day and asked me to substitute for him. I told him I could not do that because I knew absolutely nothing about soccer and would make a fool of myself. He practically begged me to do it saying that if I did not do it the boy's football coach would do it and he did not want to expose his kids to that type of coaching. I do not think I need to tell you who that other coach was. In retrospect I regret not helping him out. Back then I was too concerned with my image to expose myself to that situation, but I have great respect for Bob for his attitude toward his students and his desire to do the right thing for them. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

We were saddened to hear of Bob and our prayers are extended to the familly. Bob was a student of mine at Sleeping Giant Jr.H.S When he attended Central Connecticut he majored in Industrial Arts. He returned to Sleeping Giant as a student teacher. Bob was always conscientious and well prepared. He did an excellent job teaching. Bob was actively involved in professional organizations and in recent years took on an active role in CT TSA. Bob will be greatly missed.

I met Bob Teator in the fall of 1965 at Central Connecticut State College. That fall semester, Central admitted a special group of incoming freshmen Industrial Arts majors. Some of us in that group were block registered. This meant that we had every course together that semester, including Wrestling at 8am on Monday morning with Coach Norm Gerber. That intensive time together, more than forty years ago, provided the foundation of many personal and professional friendships. Bob Teator went on to teach in Hamden and then to Dodd Middle School in Cheshire. As Bob and I matured as teachers, we saw a good deal of each other on many CIAA and CTEA committees, particularly on Spring Conference planning. TSA and NEATT also provided us many opportunities to work together. Bob also served as an adjunct professor of Technology Education at Central Connecticut, teaching courses in Electronics and in Mechanical Energy for many years. Our professional friendship flourished. Bob went on to become one of Connecticut’s best Cooperating Teachers and was responsible for that critical development stage of many student teachers. An excellent Industrial Arts teacher with a marvelously successful program, Bob, unafraid of challenges, re-designed his curriculum and his laboratory to create a model Technology Education program, and of course he became a superb Tech Ed teacher. In addition to that, Bob had a very successful TSA program and was much involved in TSA activities. He was a perfect role model. Our professional friendship continued to flourish. Above all, Bob was a true gentleman. He was kind and never had a harsh word to say about anyone. As I said, he was a perfect role model. I shall miss him. Peter Rodrigues Assistant Professor of Technology Education – Emeritus Central Connecticut State University

We would like to express our deepest sympathy. When I ever heard that I would be working with my teacher from Dodd at the Epiphany, it was a shock, but he went from being my teacher, Mr. Teator to my friend, Bob. He loved his family very much and was so excited when his grandchildren were born. I will miss his e-mails with the jokes and such. You are all in our prayers.

Dear Pat, Matthew, Mark, John and Family: We are SO VERY SORRY for your loss. I am still in shock as I'm sure all of you are as well. What can anyone really say - it is just so hard to lose someone you love SO MUCH. Please don't hesitate to call me if you would like to talk to me - work: 508-856-3985 from 8 AM to 5 PM then home at 508-831-7280. Thank Matthew again for letting me know.
