Obituary of David Pope
Mr. David W. Pope, 46, of 160 Curtis Rd., Middlebury, died unexpectedly Thursday Feb. 14, 2008 at his home. Mr. Pope was born in Waterbury, Sept. 14, 1961, a son of the late Albert J. Pope, Jr. and the late Anne (Remsen) Pope and was a graduate of the Taft School, Watertown. He received his baccalaureate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also held a Master of Arts in Library Science and a Master of Arts in History. He was employed by the Region 15 Board of Education as a Media Specialist at Pomperaug High School for the past 23 years. He was a communicant of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Woodbury, where he had served as a former member of the Vestry. He was active with The Conn. Artillery Volunteers, a Civil War reenactment group, and was also a member of the Clockwork Repertory Theater in Oakville where he had acted in a number of plays and recently stared as Teddy Roosevelt. He leaves a brother, William R. Pope and his wife Kathy of Huntsville, AL. and a niece and nephew, Richard and Rebecca Pope. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Main St. S., Woodbury. Burial will follow in Southford Cemetery, Oxford. Friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Main St. S., Woodbury, 06798
