Dear Mary and Family, Distance(I live in Springfield,VA)prevents me from attending the services for Bill. You all have my deepest sympathy. I have SO many memories of Bill and the whole family, of Savin Ave., St.Lawrence School and Church. So little space here and so many memories. What I remember most about Bill are two things:1. I remember him always smiling. 2. I remember he loved Champ and how he would call him 'Champee'. I remember at age 14 I was hospitalized for a few days and Mary came to visit me and brought me a box of Russel Stover candy. That was so special to me I remember it to this day. My very first 'date' was in 7th grade with Bobby and we went to a dance in the basement of St. Lawrence Church. I do still have a photo of that. I spent many hours playing basketball and touch football in the backyard with the 'boys'. I feel for you all right now for your loss and I hope you all have lots of happy memories as I do. If anyone gets down to Virginia let me know. My brother, Buddy, hopes to send a condolence also but just in case his doesn't reach you, he sends his deepest sympathy as well.
